About clairaudience and clairsentience and yes, I am clairsentient and clairaudient! Enjoy!

The main differences between being clairaudient and having a mental illness are quite clear. While clairaudience and mental illness can both consist of voices within the head - the similarities stop there. Clairaudient mediums can learn to control these voices. Spirit voices tend to not be constant, but instead, are more brief and to the point. Spirit voices tend to engage in a genuine dialogue with you, answering questions that you have and providing feedback. Spirit voices generally do not prevent functionality nor do they suggest harmful behavior. Spirit voices are gentle, safe, rational (often more rational than your own) and usually quite compassionate. With clairaudience, you also have the gift of clear speaking, meaning you can speak, share and channel the messages you hear from Spirit to others.
Clairaudience can begin to manifest in a variety of ways and there are a few signs you naturally have this ability.

9 Signs You Are Clairaudient

  • You have a tendency to talk to yourself.

You frequently troubleshoot, think of replies you would give to certain scenarios, calm yourself down and talking to yourself after a stressful event. If the solutions and replies you are getting are calming, clear headed, and thoughtful, this is a sign that the other participant in the conversation is Spirit and you hear them clairaudiently.
  • You give profound advice.

If you sometimes give great advice, yet afterwards, you have no idea how that fantastic speech just came out of your mouth - this is a sign that Spirit gave you the words. Spirit can speak through you, as you speak aloud what it is they say. Same thing if it’s written.
  • You’re already a practicing comforter.

Your livelihood and profession is to give calming, centered advice. Therapists, counselors, nurses, coaches, anything where a main role of your life is involved with calming, stress diffusing advice, suggestions and guidance. Very likely that these words are coming from Spirit Guides and Angels and coming through you, without your knowledge. This is why sometimes the advice seems so perfectly tailored to what that person needed at that moment.
  • You hear ringing or buzzing in your ears a lot.

It tends to come on very quickly and dissipate after a few minutes or seconds. This is often a signal that Spirit wants your attention or is giving you important information.
  • You hear whispering, noises, talking, radio in the distance.

This is often Spirit generated speech, especially if there is no known physical source of the speaking. If it bothers you, ask those in Spirit around you either speak up to tell you what they want or ask them to pipe down so you can go to sleep.
  • You hear knocking, footsteps, creaking noises.

This is actually a sign that you can hear the movement of Spirit around you.
  • If you’ve ever been in the same room with someone, and thought they said something, but when asked, they say, “No, I didn’t say anything.”

If this is happening to you a lot, it’s a sign you’re hearing Spirit.
  • Sudden inspiration or ideas that just come to you, often in full detail - while you’re driving, showering, or doing otherwise mundane tasks.

Surprise! These mundane tasks are often considered meditative quiet time for Spirit, and the perfect time for those who support you, to give you ideas and solutions to your problems. When you wonder internally, “Man, I’m not sure what to say to this person here. I don’t know what would be the best thing to say.” Then later on, the perfect words have come into your mind out of nowhere - it was likely those Spirits of yours helping you out!
  • You hear messages that sound like they were delivered just for you.

On the radio, on television or with spoken word, you often catch messages delivered from your Guides and Angels through another human vehicle. Spirit can make the world around you just a bit quieter and help you hone in your focus to deliver a message just for you. If this focused hearing happens a lot, it’s a sign Spirit is trying to speak to you.
Whenever you hear something, either internally or externally, without a physically explainable source - it’s likely Spirit oriented and being that you have a Spirit within that physical body of yours, it’s no surprise you can hear it.
This list is just a few of the many signs you may have clairaudience. If you need help understanding if your experiences are related to intuitive abilities or otherwise, ask a medium, shaman or spiritual professional for help deciding. They will not dismiss your experiences.

More about this subject:

CLAIRAUDIENCE
Clairaudience (clear audio /hearing) -- To perceive sounds or words and extrasensory noise, from sources broadcast from spiritual or ethereal realm, in the form of "inner ear" or mental tone which are perceived without the aid of the physical ear and beyond the limitations of ordinary time and space. These tones and vibrations are more easily perceived in an alpha state and during meditation, though many clairaudients can obtain verbal and sound-related information regarding the past, present and future in a variety of environments. Most Channelers (also known as Mediums) work with both clairvoyance and clairaudience.

CLAIRSENTIENCE
Clairsentience (clear sensation or feeling) - To perceive information by a "feeling" within the whole body, without any outer stimuli related to the feeling or information.

Identity: A Transition and A Transformation

1. A Transition
I have been around, in this incarnation, for about 37 years. For most of my life, I have been building a strong, articulate, fierce and compassionate identity as an Activist.

Activists are known to keep a fist in the air, a battle ready persona and their urgent debate skills sharp.
Much of what fuels the journey of activism is the energy of anger.

We feel our anger is righteous and are quick to defend ourselves and distinguish ourselves from the myriads of people lining up to be angry over endless different causes and circumstances. I am describing this, but not assigning any moral judgment to the characters involved.
Each person has their reasons for channeling anger through the many kinds of activism available to us.

Some get arrested, some march in the streets and chant loudly, some partake in property damage, some run for office, some vote and insist we all must vote or nothing will change, some write letters to representatives, some go door to door building membership and collecting petition signatures, some write and execute passionate speeches and so on, the list continues.

I have participated in many of the ways I have listed and every so often, there is a win, there is a success and we milk it for all it is worth. Deep down, I knew, at every turn, as I engaged my whole self in these Activist methods, that I felt powerless on the political level, isolated and that I was possibly leading to more divisions among us, rather than relaying what was really on my mind.
I began to feel my interest wane over time, when political problems arose as just themselves, "political" "problems".

I began to feel convinced that, while Activism addressed so many areas of dysfunction I cared about, the solutions lay in a more subtle approach, at least, for me. I attended massage therapy schools, and learned some acupressure, Reiki and reflexology.

I attained a license to practice bodywork and spent some time doing that. It felt better to me,
at that time, than activism had been feeling. I was learning about the body, about relaxation and certain kinds of healing that felt useful and relevant.

I got great feedback from clients. Clearly, my hands could have a positive conversation with a person's body and there was that wonderful sense of accomplishment when they got off the table at the end of the session and felt so much better after the work I did to help them! Still, something was missing.

2. A Transformation

It began to occur to me, I need to work on subtle energy levels with people. This is an art that required fine tuning of the senses, and consistent development of what I would eventually and openly call my clairaudient and clairsentient abilities. I began to have dreams that I would analyze while awake which gave me a sense of initiation.

One carry over feeling from Activism was a strong dislike for elitism, and a huge commitment to standing on the side of justice and those who are marginalized for whatever reason.
It was for this reason I could not simply see myself building a clientele of very privileged people who have many choices and great access to health care. So, body work was just a place holder for what would come next.

I have been developing sessions for people that can improve the quality of their lives. In order to stay true to my values, I only accept trade as payment, not money. A comparable trade would be a yoga session for one of my trademark shamanic dream work sessions. Or, I could get a haircut for a session. These are just a couple possible ideas.

I have a lot of reasons for being a trade only practitioner, and one is that this makes my work more accessible and not a luxury. I know that the sessions I give can create positive change for clients, with their permission and participation. Eventually, I will probably offer folks trainings in the modality of "Restorative Shamanic Dream Work" and perhaps I will charge for that, since it is directly from my work in "Imaya's Modalities", which I founded.

That is much farther down the line, way in the future. These sessions range all over the place in regard to purpose and focus, and will hone in on the most pressing issue for each client. A few ways I differ from those in my "field" is that I empower the client after practicing with them for awhile to contact the assistance themselves, once Spirit shows me they are ready to do so.

Another difference from what I do and what is done out there in the name of psychic work is a kind of trick or game, played by people using the power of suggestion. We have all seen those ploys aimed at getting you feeling insecure. They say something like, "Do you want to know about your love life or your job? Is he or she cheating?" This is a sensationalist ploy to get people unnecessarily worried and ultimately paying someone who will keep them dependent and thinking that the "psychic" is the only one who can tap into the truths and mysteries surrounding life.

It is ethically imperative that a practitioner does not create a dependency on the services they give or on the practitioner personally, since that will only create more issues for the person and will fail to empower them, since spiritual assistance should foster a stronger sense of self, not a lesser one.
The transformation is underway. I went from skimming surfaces via methods that seek to address injustice and pain to returning to the body and the underlying tensions there.

Now, I am diving much deeper and going higher in a more celestial, faith building, liberating, subtle energetic fashion to create change that does not attach itself to an election cycle, or political platform or candidate. I do not subscribe to one type of religion or one type of political party.

I am sailing above, and watching the energy of crowds move so predictably, or I might be moving undetected in deep violet flowing waters. I release myself from the confines of the paths laid out for me. I forge ahead blazing trails, asking questions, escaping a million kinds of persecution, paving way for the most fierce of all kinds of compassion, conjuring trust and knowing and love and love and love.

Reminder

"remember: despite how peaceful, open and loving you can be, people can only meet you as deeply as they have met themselves"

About the Ancestors

First of all it makes sense to start with the fact that I grew up around folks who were establishing a "tradition" as they called it which involves honoring and including our human ancestors in our spiritual practices. I say this to point to the many years I have had to give consideration to this type of honoring and involvement of the ancestors, as symbols, guides, teachers and more.

For a very long time, I did not understand why we gave so much attention to the "beloved dead" as they are called in my old community. I did not feel connected to them,  nor did I believe they sat just on the other side of a veil, wanting to help or talk to us. Slowly, over time I began to distinguish that which I had been taught or been exposed to, and that which I could really understand as true and get on board with.

I became aware of cultural appropriation at a young age, and in order to really walk with integrity, I find it incredibly important to stay away from appropriating anyone else's link to their ancestral line. In ritual space and what is called sacred space, I invoke only ancestors in a way that respects their identity and I am careful to leave alone that which is not from my heritage.

My view is that not all ancestors are benign, they were human once, and not all ancestors want the highest good for their descendants. In my estimation, there are ancestors who would even sabotage a healing practice if they could and may intend to keep secrets that, if uncovered, would reveal much about who that ancestor really was while alive and what he or she did, that was harmful or would ruin the image that being had built around them.

So it follows that I would assert, death does not instantly return a being to an enlightened or loving state. If we see it through the lens of reincarnation, there are plenty of cases where the ancestor in question may very well need to incarnate as a human again, perhaps a whole lot, in order to really clean up their karma and get to a place spiritually where they can work toward and eventually reach a platform of ascension or transformation for the highest good. Also, we all very well may have ancestors in our lines who do not wish to ever ascend or neutralize negative karma. It is always a choice. Once we grasp our free will, there are limitless ways we choose to live and die.

All that said, it would be unwise to simply ask all the ancestors to be present in a ritual space. I suggest employing a phrase like "I invite all beneficent ancestors who can energetically align with the healing and assistance needed to be here now." With that clarity, nobody whose intentions are less than of the highest, most loving and clear vibration will be able to get into the space. Magically, when it comes to that kind of circle, you must be invited in, you cannot just crash the party.

Interceding on your behalf- Imaya's Modalities

(Excerpt from Explanation of my work)

I sense I am instructed to tell you a bit about how this works. If a person has certain kind of psychic blocks around being able to hear her own guides, a shaman/clairsentient person can intercede on her behalf and transmit words that match the frequency or vibration of what the shaman type can sense, which is being directed toward the blocked person, (you.) One of the points of this work is to familiarize you with the vibration of your guides, the words brought to you are a result of the shaman type receiving the vibrations and love intended for you from them. Once you really get more familiar with these vibrations and energies you will probably want to contact them in your own way, while using the help of the shaman type as needed.

Personally, I was initiated by Spirit in my dream life and the potency of that initiation and of my abilities have been confirmed by working with clients and getting results for them consistently.

i love you/ let go

perhaps there is more of a reason we choose fiction, besides the story we tell ourselves about the freedom in writing fiction. there is that, there is the starting from scratch. there is the absence of trying to stay true to moments past, that which has already gone on, and the absurd pressure we may put upon ourselves to be utterly accurate. in fact, once moments and experiences have gone down, we are stuck with only the memories and memories can be so much more of a betrayal than we ever could really know.

I paint with a broad brush when I write non fiction. the tiny detailed brushes must be reserved for the most accurate of creations and those seem to be of the fiction variety. I cannot re-create the nuances of the real world, the inner experiences. some writers seem to be able to but then again, how would we provide evidence that they are not also adding fiction to the portrayals of what was? We would never know if they were, since memories are composed of glimpses and strained views, and our minds fill in the rest.

sitting at two thirds of the way up the hill in the car, I have only words to map out what I mean, just like I have only words to describe the night we were there. Words seem to fall incredibly short when it comes to the artistic rendering. perhaps a dance would help, choreographed to tell it with a subtle vision. perhaps a song, a painting, a sculpture. one would need to let go expectations of all the rules about storytelling. one must let go all the reasons and rules funneled into our brains about how we breathe life into a memory. past, present and future all run together in swirled colors and whispered intentions.

all of this could start your heart, stop your breath, become intertwined with your limbs. the vessel through which all this comes begs of you, do not stop trying to understand, do not stop swishing around in the pools and rivers and lakes of this devotional mess. to understand it is to liberate the creator of it. to keep trying is to pray with him or her or them, to keep it going until all meanings have been salvaged, all intentions have been properly aligned.

instant knowledge. how and why?

have you ever felt the intuitive or even telepathic pathways between you and another person open up in an instant and information flows between the two of you effortlessly and without words or with very few words? and, on the flip side of this coin, have you ever felt or noticed those same pathways disappear in an instant, leaving you wondering how it happened and with questions about the nature of this kind of event?

if all this sounds familiar to you, you are not alone. this kind of seemingly magical experience is one that gets downplayed, denied or ignored in many social circles. the reason for the fairly common dismissal of this type of communication is because we are rarely or never taught to use and develop it in formal education, through media, by parents or in any other setting we generally find ourselves steeped in.

however, what if we were all taught to use and explore these events and get a more comprehensive understanding, or at least, a closer examination? for example, let's take the first scenario. there are 2 rather ordinary people who have cultivated a friendship. Let's call them number 1 and number 2.

number 1 walks up to number 2 who is sitting at a bench, having a beverage. as soon as number 2 sees number one, she has a foreboding feeling, like she is about to get bad news. number 1 sits down. she is silent. her body language, her facial expression and her silence are all number 2 has to determine, at this point, about what, if anything is going on, and if it is a matter of significance.

number 2 can guess that number 1 is feeling low and can guess what it is about. but at that moment, they simply look at each other and the eye contact is enough to convey the enormity and severity of the feelings and thoughts number 1 is holding.

the same sort of transmission can of course happen for happier, more lighthearted situations. the vibrations for communicating joy generally transmit more quickly.

we have probably all heard the phrase "self conscious". we all understand there is a negative connotation to that saying. so I pose the question, why is it such a bad thing to be self conscious? well, of course the answer lies in the implications and interpretations of the words, not the words themselves. it would be truly wonderful if people were more often "conscious" of themselves. so, why the cognitive dissonance? why the implied discomfort in the mere suggestion of becoming more conscious of your "self"?

Conscious awareness is a developmental reality that average to above average functioning adults all participate in so we can navigate the adult world with relative to good success. Becoming aware of who we really are, is a whole different situation. Awareness of your self includes the ability to self censor when needed, the ability to analyze the behavior and attitudes of the self and adjust accordingly if problems arise.

However, these mechanisms for survival in human society are not signs of the finish line for self awareness. Becoming conscious of the self is a life long exploration.

Recently I began identifying as a clairsentient, clairaudient practitioner. I developed a system to create ceremonies for people to improve their quality of life and I even came up with a name for what I do. it is called "restorative shamanic dream work". this work and the positive self image that goes with creating and practicing it has been a long time coming.

I have been researching subjects that deal with shamanism, psychic ability, and much more. I have had multiple revelations about my own gifts and challenges, and have arrived over and over in places that ask me to examine further and keep going, instead of becoming stagnant or complacent. If I am apathetic about my own healing path and learning commitments, how can I expect to foster and even facilitate the kind of significant healing I know is possible for my clients?

For now, that's enough about my choices. what will you choose? how will you go about finding new levels of awareness about your self?
