In Solidarity with # Water is Life and Standing Rock Sioux Tribe- original piece

Water was how I loved you
I dreamed the water fall that would
Cloak your openness
Rivers and lakes
that cleanse you free again...
Oceans that knew how to distract
Away from the parts of your surface

that shivered in vulnerability
I asked you gently to know me
And to know me in that way
That water smoothed you over
Until you shine bright with renewed
Identity
I loved you with water

so you were broken in
by rivulets of change
that never caused unnecessary fear
It was water you would happily hear
From clouds it fell and
All became clear
