looking for answers

most of us are seekers of some kind. few of us would claim to have answers that suffice when it comes to the BIG questions plaguing this existence and some sort of comfort with mystery helps to alleviate the far reaching curiosity we naturally feel. true that some do not care to question beyond what they experience from the comforts of what is in front of them, but for the rest of us, who need to penetrate the mystery, who stare at the sun as well as the moon though we were told not to, we must be free on our searches. freedom they say, does not come freely. we pay for it, we fight for it, however you look at it, it is not something we just have at all times.

the degree to which you resist, is the degree to which you are free...is one philosophy. there are countless philosophies to explore when defining your own freedom and the steps you are willing to take to live free, love free, ask questions and so forth. others say, with more discipline, comes more freedom. if you are allowed to discipline yourself, you will at some point end up with more freedom. this has worked in many cases. the truth is, there is no cut and dry, black and white, one- size- fits- all answer to finding the path that makes most sense and feels most right to you. it comes down to making mistakes in order to eliminate what is not working for you.

when you are looking for answers, you will go to great lengths, if you are like me at all, to find them. this searching will bring you into new communities, and it will take you to representatives of different faiths. it is overly simplistic to say that all answers are within. some answers are within, i would say, is more accurate. others end up being combonations of what you have learned from others and conclusions you draw on your own. i am not laying out common questions just yet in this post, i will address that later. focusing on the search, what are common roadblocks? some folks give up when they are not instantly satisfied by what they hear or what they find. settling on a belief system or set of beliefs can feel stifling or limiting or conversely, it can feel comforting and needed. if you are one who still needs to look, search, dream, question, wonder, discuss, ponder, reflect, explore, then this blog is dedicated to such activities and i hope you find it to be such a place.

to be continued....
